Indeed, I am busting some Halo. Sorry for the horrible expression ._.;

I'm still working on Truth and Reconciliation, so 77 need not fear, or whatever... Halo is my favorite level, so I decided to finally take a crack at learning how the heck everything works. Was pretty simple after the fourth run, so I decided to try it all out.

I'm using insidi0us' route (<3 you insid), because I believe it is the fastest, and it is the most comfortable for me anyways. The main difficulties I'm interested in are Heroic and Legendary. I'll be taking a shot at Normal and Easy later, so watch out, insid Razz. Destroyed.

Anyways, yesterday I had an enormous amount of free time, and after about 5 failed T&R runs, I decided to run Halo. I must have ran that level 15 times, my god.... Out of those 15 attempts were 2 successful attempts. 1 for Heroic, 1 for Legendary, both on tape.

The Heroic time stands at around 13:53, and the Legendary time stands at 14:29. Both of these can be improved by a lot, so I'll be workin' on doing just that.

Bringing the whole map together on Legendary is a pain, let me tell you. The beginning area gives me the most trouble. Have to brush up on my skills Smile. I have a pretty good fighting strategy down, but lacking a plasma pistol in the beginning is just... ugh. Have to get lucky with those Grunts.

I got extremely lucky one attempt, and had perfect fights (I am not kidding, they were perfect) all through the beginning. Then I squished myself against the wall with the warthog =D!

Funny stuff. Anyways, just thought I'd let everyone know what's coming Very Happy. Hope it's a damn capture card soon (grr).

Oh, the beatdown from scurty =D

I'll beat you on your host, just you wait Smile. And I'll be beatin' your Halo... I might go after your Silent Cartographer if I have the patience... MUWAHAHAHA! Razz. Yeah, that'll never happen, but it might happen with Halo.

Also, thanks themann Very Happy. I knew it was faster, I didn't know it was an entire minute faster.... that's cool. Rest assured, it will be 2 minutes faster when I am finished!

EDIT: Holy crap, it IS a pure minute faster. LOL, that's awesome =D

I wont write here.. I wont write here... I wont write here... I wont write here.. Damnit, I wrote here.

I'm buying a new copy of halo (my old one is just horrible, I have 2 working maps : P) and I'll try to beat your time s|Ynki.

Well, not quite, I'm pretty sure that you are way better than me in Halo 1 [I'd rule your ass in Halo 2, but oh well], but I'll trye.

A two year old child could own me at Halo 2, and that's because I rarely play it. Mostly because I'm always playing Halo 1. And I welcome competition, so may either of us... submit the best time or something. Still trying to work on improving my times, but my dad is right back at home, watching TV all day and not letting me on the X-box. I swear to god he's obsessed. I woke up at 7:00 this morning, and he was down there watching figure skating or something stupid. Then my family was watching a movie last night, and he went downstairs and watched the olympics on my brother's TV for awhile.... There is something seriously wrong.

Confused bragging about halo 2 skill is overly silly.
and then to say u'r better at 2 than 1 is like saying:
"i can destroy u in checkers, but you'd ruin me in chess"
yea, u can be undefeatable in checkers... but it's MUCH
harder to get to that point in chess.

anyways, slynk.. ive heard so much about ur dad watching tv,
and u mentioned it again. so as i was reading your post i was
planning on saying how he must have some sorta problem...
if thats all he does when he is home. but eh, u beat me to it.

so why is it u can't just subtract the VCR from whichever TV its on,
and use it and your xbox somewhere else? i KNOW you have more than 1 tv...
im confuzzled. Sad

I'm working on moving another TV, my X-box, N64 and another VCR around. I was hoping to do it this weekend, but I doubt it'll happen. TV calls.... I hope I can get it done soon, because it's frustrating only being able to play at around midnight. Also, sorry for mentioning the TV problem so much. Nothing better to do I suppose ._.;

honestly though... grab a tv, vcr, xbox... plop them down where u need em.
you can do it sloppily in under 5 mins... if you want to make it pretty,
it might take you 20 minutes. i dont see the problem here...

know what i think?
you've been vigorously attempting each and every map all day every day
but you can't nail your times... so u make up stories about an olympian dad
and a pop-corn munching family.
how close am i???

yea... s'what i THOUGHT!

anyhoo...
lets get back on topic.
you're running halo, and u think u can just jack my route and go ofter my easy time?
i suppose ur gonna try to 1sk all the marines, waste some frags, hogjump up to the
switch and slide jump over the pipes and into the basement?
ill jump all over your legendary time if u really wanna declare war.

haha im just playin... but yea good luck... plz finish T&R before u get too serious on other maps...
i wanna get goin on the vid, na mean?

It's a little more complicated than that. And you about have my planning down Razz. Although if I was scurty, I'd probably just walk through a mountain and end the level instantly. And I'll finish off T&R someday. Tough week ahead of me, so don't expect any updates.

What about if you have two people that are the best at checkers? Some one isn't the best then. Anyways, there's a difference. It's your opinion and not a fact. I would like to say I agree with you, but I don't even see where your opinion comes from. Why is it harder to be good in Halo 1 than in Halo 2?

i was going to ask the same question when that was first posted - then i took a stroll through the MLG forums...

i'm sure insidi0us could explain it better, but the best i can describe it here is :

Halo 1 is like Formula 1 racing - very precise and controlled, very few people with the skills to make it to the top, but you usually know who's going to win before it even starts

Halo 2 is like NASCAR - big cars with sloppy handling, many skilled drivers, many lucky drivers, but some punk rookie comes up from 23rd place to win his first and only race

I think this is how it all works: The Halo 2 pistol is more degrading to fire than actually being killed, whereas in Halo 1, if you see someone with a pistol, you're gone.

I love both pistols.. but dual wielding sucks.. I hate double SMG (or even worse: pistol + SMG) n00bs.
