I'm looking to buy a cc, and I was wondering if you have to play on your computer monitor. Are there any cc's that let you play on a regural t.v.?

I need to know some stuff about the Dazzle DVC 90.

What do I plug it up to when I use it?

Does it come with the wires and all that?

How do I get the stuff I recorded onto my computer?

On a scale from 1/10, 10 being the hardest, how hard is it to set it up and actually be using it?

Dazzle DVC 85

Device Tech Specs
Internal or External: External (external pwns)
Firewire or USB: USB 2.0
Capture resolution: Up to 720x480
Sound Capture: Yes
Compatibility: I use a PC, I am not sure about a mac
Price: Around $50

A little about my Device
My capture card is light blue and does not take up much space at all. It sits nicely on a speaker next to my laptop.

Pros
- Easy to install
- Good capture quality
- Really good for its price
- You can call it your "pet" (well, I do at least)

Cons
- So far I have not had any troubles. It's perfect.

Notes
All Dazzles (I think) come with Pinnacle Studio Quickstart 9. It is not very good for editing. But it works for capturing. I just use Windows Movie Maker (hopefully getting Adobe Premiere soon) to edit my videos. And this capture card comes with a two-year warranty.

All around, very good capture card so far.

It depends on the capturing device you buy. Some devices like Dazzle 150's have an input and an output, so you can connect your xbox to the capture card, and connect the capture card to both your television and computer. Other and cheaper alternatives such as the Dazzle 90, do not have output jacks, but there are ways around it. Naturally, if your playing off your computer screen, your going to get some lag delay (can very from 1-3 seconds from what I have seen.) There are ways though, to get a device, specifically something like the dazzle 90, to play on your television. You can get video and audio cable splitters, which basically give your xbox visual cords the ability to connect two objects instead of one.

hope this helps,

For the DVC-150, do you need a camcorder or just an xbox and computer?

Depends how you use it. If it has Analouge inputs, then the quality should be just as good as a Capture Card. Otherwise, it's Shakey Cam......

Dazzle DVC 90

Device Tech Specs
Internal or External: External
Firewire or USB: USB
Capture resolution: High 720x480
Sound Capture: Yes
Compatibility: Not sure, I'll go with Both
Price: 89.99 USD

A little about my Device
It owns. The quality owns. I have had major issues (see next paragraph). It's blue, tiny, takes up almost no space.

Pros
Quality=Rape
Tiny
Blue Smile
Cheap for it's kind (unfortunately)
USB, so it's easy to set up

Cons
Well...
Back when I got it for Christmas I plugged it in, excited to see the magic happen. I went to WMM and tried to record... it crashed. So I'm here thinking: "No big deal, I'll use Vegas to record!!". So I tried. It didn't pick it up. Then, I tried Vdub. Crashed. Then, I tried Pinnacle. Crashed. Finally I tried AM capture. Crashed. So I'm on the verge of returning it, and then some angel (IcehawkDT), says the magic words.
"Try turning hardware acceleration off"
Crashed.
So then I was browsing the monitor properties, and saw
"Monitor refresh rate"
I read somewhere that it refreshes the monitor (duh) and upped it to 85 Hertz, WITH hardware acceleration off.
No crash.

Notes
I don't recommend for someone who isn't a computer nerd.

Ok, here is my dilemma. I want cap. card so I can make a couple of montages, but mostly film movies. Right now, I have enough money for a Dazzle 85, but on the Dazzle 90, I noticed that the quality was better. If I wait a while, I will have enough for the 90. So my question, is the Dazzle 85 better for montages/movies, or is the Dazzle 90 better for montages/movies, or do they both have their pros and cons. And by the way, I am using my VCR as a splitter, I dont know if that matters or not.
