For this first Roundup, I asked both men to write one for us, and so today I'm featuring them both.

From The Trombone:

The Halo Movies section of our forum has been pretty active and creative recently.

An innovative idea, from Bungie319, that uses mods to the best of their ability to help portray Doom, in the Halo Universe. Right now, there is only the teaser, but that is looking pretty good right now.

An…interesting video from the HALO NOOBS series is out, and it claims to be the final one. Their sense of humor might not be for all, but many viewers, along with myself, found it somewhat enjoyable. If you can, just forgo the shaky camera work and the long opening credits, and you’ll find some humor in there somewhere. And if people typing in all capitals gets on your nerve, you might want to just click this, to go directly to the HALO NOOBS3:THE FINAL RUN movie. However, if you want to go to the forum thread, feel free to read all the comments it has gotten so far.

One of the best Halo machinima’s I have seen in a while is Metal Gear Solid. These guys put a huge amount of work into this, and it shows. Some of the camera angles are great, such as the underwater feet right in the beginning. However, before you start to watch it, make sure you have a good 35 minutes. It is well worth the time.

Of course, I could not go through the Halo Movies forum without sifting through numerous montages. My favorite one this week was a sticking montage, Tag! The editing was near nonexistent, but the quality and quantity of sticks was very impressive (let’s see you stick that many people in Team Phantoms!). I posted a direct link to the video, because the post itself is riddled with a wee bit of immaturity, but if you want to either sift through the banter or reply with some thoughts on the video, Enter at your own risk… (This topic is locked already actually. -Duke)

That’s all for this week. Stay tuned!

From TheMaker420:

Hey guys, what's up? TheMaker420 here, with his first ever Weekly Movie Round Up!

First off, I would like to mention a teaser that just caught my attention a few days ago. The teaser is DOOM, done by Bungie319, it shows an amazing use of mods. The filming, and editing once again impressed me. So good job Bungie, and keep up the good work Premium Product!

DOOM Teaser

Next, I would like to acknowledge the movie, Metal Gear Solid, done by Jamie98s. The editing in this movie was outstanding! I could tell Jamie98s spent a great deal of time, filming and editing this. The different camera angles made this movie one of the best I've seen here on HIH. So check it out!

Thanks to both of these guys. Give em both some encouragement. Oh, and be nice...you might want them to mention your vid some day. Wink

Very nice stuff guys. I liked the writeup from both of you. Also the format (actually using paragraphs) was good on the eyes. It is much better than how most people on here post their long writeups.

Keep it up

Great job! A bit of an overlap between the two, but I believe that normally they won't both be creating one for the same day? Either way, they were great.

For the first one, thanks a ton for the direct links as well as the forum thread links. It's great that you give us the option of reading through all of the comments or just getting to the video.

For the second one, one suggestion would be to include the thread links, as then we can post our comments there as well. Thanks!

Overall, great job to both of you! Keep up the great work!

Because each of these guys will rotate weeks, so that no one person gets burned out, and I'll have a way to work it out if one guy goes on vacaction or gets attacked by dinosaurs or whatever.

great round up from both guys/// i'm glad to see this is back.

one thing to mention... maybe you 2 should get together....just to make sure you don't both put the same movies in your roundups. i was a bit disapointed to find the same 2 videos in both roundups. i know it's your first time guys so it was great and keep-em coming.

So yeah, normally that won't happen. He was just allowing us to see both of their styles right away. In the future they'll be posting their roundups a week apart from the other, which should easily eliminate this problem.

Those are some good movies, but remember that putfile thing? Put file is stupid anyways, they dumped all of my old movies that I uploaded.

Anyways, musician eh? How so? I play three instruments, piano, bass quitar, and oboe.

1 question, How did they get Elongation all... Dark, and use the Light?

Somebody should make a forum for that trailer, or Put a link (just a thought)

Yeah, it is pretty clear that they used mods to film this, but the mods definitely work in the movie's favor.

I really liked the Doom trailer and the MGS made be Jamie98, that guy is really talented when it comes to movies. Also, WTF was with that Halo Noobs 3. That was probably one of the most retarded things I've ever seen.
