Well, i realized that it might be nice to have a list of every easter egg in the campaign mode of 'Halo 2' and I've seen lists before, but they are always missing a lot of eggs. So i decided to make my own list!

Easter Egg: A lot of people were a little unsure where exactly the 'line' stood between a glitch and an egg, so i'm making this definition. An easter egg is a "goodie" purposely put into a game by the game's creators. This "goodie", whether it be one of the creators name's written on a wall with blood, or a giant soccer ball, these goodies were put here on purpose. All easter eggs have some reference to the game's creators (some sort of inside joke). Understand? If you have any questions, PM me!

Here is the layout for each easter egg:

Egg:

Level that you will find the egg on:

Campaign Eggs

===============================

Armory

---------------------------------

Sarge's Cigar

Level:
Armory
How to get to it:
On the level, Armory, start the level as you usually would, up until you get to the elevator ride with Sgt. Johnson. Get into the elevator and then right when the ride is over, step out of the elevator and take an immediate right. You will see a trashcan, in between the trash can and the wall is a cigar.
Meaning:
Simple enough, this is Sgt. Johnson's cigar! He obviously wasn't aloud to smoke on 'Cairo Station' so he hid is cigar behind a trash can.

---------------------------------

Cairo Station

---------------------------------

Outskirts

---------------------------------

Water Wall

Level:
Outskirts
How to get to it:
Go through the level until you reach dark tunnel where you need your flashlight. Go through that and then you will be outside. Once outside, take the warthog and drive on the path that you normally would go to until you see a big structure right after the huge purple gun. Make sure sputnik is enabled and grenade jump up there and then you will find the water wall. When it shoot it, it appears as if you are shooting water (splashes).
Meaning:
This weird repeating texture is actually a map of the entire level of Outskirts. The reason that it makes a water effect when you shoot it is because it is hinting at a much bigger map of the level that was found under Outskirts' ocean (more info on that in the link below).

---------------

Rex (Part 1)

Level:
Outskirts
How to get to it:
Keep walking along the rooftops on the right side of the beginning of Outskirts. When you get to a clay/pink colored building, a chunk of the building is missing (and you are in view of Hotel Zanzibar.) Go inside and check this out. I'd say this is the only place you can find a plasma sword in this level. Right next to the plasma sword is the word "REX" written in rocks and blood.
Meaning:
One of this level's lead designer's is Tyson Green. His nickname is Ferrex. Since he created the majority of this level, he decided to leave his mark on it by writing 'REX" with pebbles and blood on the floors of one of the buldings in this level.
Forum link:

Vid: http://maphawk.ontv.com/utfoo/video/%5B04%5DOutskirts/eggsword.mov

---------------

E3 Posters

Level:
Outskirts
How to get to it:
These posters are scattered all over Outskirts. If you still can't find them, you can find them right at the very beggining of the level right before the first doorway.
Meaning:
The picture on this poster is a screenshot from an early single-player halo 2 demo that was shown at E3 of 2004

---------------

Audio Egg

Level:
Outskirts
How to get to it:
At the beggining of outskirts, you'll find a speaker, if you llisten to the speaker, you'll hear words spoken in "swahili". You can find the translations in the forum thread.
Meaning:
The loud speaker on this level shouts 9 different phrases in swahili. If you want to know what those 9 phrases are in both Swahili and English, visit the link below.
Forum link:
http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=13688&highlight=swahili

---------------

The Invincihog

Level:
Outskirts
How to get to it:
Proceed through the level as normal until you reach the dark tunnel where you need a flashlight. Right after that, hop in a warthog and continue through the level, When you are about to enter the giant tunnel, turn around and go back to the spot right after the small dark tunnel. If you are looking straight out from that tunnel, follow the path on your right (not down the road, but against the wall) until you reach a porch type area, there will be a warthog on it, that is it.
Meaning:
It's an invincible warthog! If no one is in it, it cant be blown up, just like in halo 1.

---------------------------------

Metropolis

---------------------------------

The Scarab Gun

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
First, you need to get on a banshee to the second half of the level. For easy instructions on how to do that, visit http://maphawk.ontv.com/utfoo/maproom/%5B05%5DMetropolis/banpwn.htm. Once you have a banshee on the second part of the level, drive it to the first super high bridge above the level and on top of it is the "scarab gun".
Meaning:
This is the scarab gun. Bungie decided to let the player have a little fun (getting to the scarab gun, and using it) so they hid a gun (in an almost unreachable spot) that shoots the scarab beam!
Forum link:
http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=40346&highlight=scarab+gun+metropolis

---------------

Hoot Barrel

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
On metropolis, find one of the yellow barrels that scatter the road on various points of the level, and knock it over. Once it is on it's side, you will see what appears to be the word "HOOT".
Meaning:
The reason for the word 'HOOT' is still unknown but the symbol behind the word is the logo for the 'Se7enth Column', Bungie's underground army.
Forum link:
http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=16828&highlight=egg
Vid:
http://media.putfile.com/HOOTSFR

---------------

Soccer Ball

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
When you get to the outside part in metropolis (the first part where you enter the city), look forward and you will see a broken glass window. Make sure sputnik is on and then throw a frag/plasma grenade to get on top of the window. Now that you are up there, throw another nade to get to the top of that bulding. Once up there, follow the wall to your right and then take a sharp left and you will see a giant soccer ball!
Meaning:
This is an object that was used in the 'test' level that bungie made to test out all of the physics in the game. They probably had way too much fun with the object and decided to put it in the game so that we could have as much fun as them!
Vid:
http://picapic.net/media/Z2ZDPRR84Q8GV4

---------------

IOHBOY

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
well you know on the bridge, where there are two huge upside down 'U's, walk out of the tunnel (opposite where the level starts) and the right side of the first 'U' you see, walk until you get to the beam that you can walk on, and walk all the way to the top (sniper in hand) and get as far as you can to the right, (facing the 'U') and zoom in all the way at a litte walkway protruding from the upside down 'U' and you will see the word "IOHBOY".
Meaning:
This is not confirmed, but it is strongly believed that this is an acronym for 'I'm Only Here Because Of You'.
Forum Link:

Vid:

---------------

'Forerunner Company' Written in Swahili

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
After the big outside part in Metro, Right as you are entering the building that acts as a marine post, look down and you will see the words 'Mtangulizi' and 'Kampuni'.
Meaning:
The words 'Mtangulizi' and 'Kampuni' together mean 'Forerunner Company'. And why would 'Forerunner Company' be written on a bulding on Earth!?!?!?!!?!!!
Forum link:
http://maphawk.ontv.com/utfoo/curiouser/%5B05%5DMetropolis/mtang.htm
Vid:
http://maphawk.ontv.com/utfoo/video/%5B05%5DMetropolis/mtangulizi.mov

---------------

TTERRAB INDUSTRIES

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
Right when you enter the city of New Mombasa when you have to fight the wraith's (right before you enter the marine outpost) look on the wall, there is a huge sign that says 'TTERRAB INDUSTRIES'
Meaning:
This huge sign is the work of Christopher Barrett (http://www.bungie.net/Inside/MeetTheTeam.aspx?Person=barrett), an enviromental artist at Bungie Studios. Tterrab spelled backwards is Barrett, get it?

---------------

'7' Safety

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
Right after the tunnel (after the long bridge but before you go outside again) you will enter a circular room with pipes right above you, it is on one of the walls in that room
Meaning:
This may appear to be a normal safety sign (for more info on that, visit http://www.georgetown.edu/departments/chemistry/safety/Appendixjb1.htm) but if you add up all the numbers, you'll get the infamous number '7'! (Bungie's favorite number)

---------------

Citizen Alert

Level:
Metropolis
How to get to it:
Right before you enter the marine post (after the battle with the wraiths) take a sharp left and go down an alleyway and if you keep going straight you will find this sign.
Meaning:
Well, there are two sides to this sign, each side saying a completely different thing. Here is what each side says:

Side 1:

YOUTH OF MOMBASA!
YOUR CITY NEEDS YOU!

JOIN YOUR LOCAL FREEDOM
FIGHTER BRIGADE TODAY AND SEND
THE DIRTY COVENANT ZEALOTS
BACK TO THEIR HOMEWORLD!

OUR ENEMY IS WEAK. THEY WILL
ONLY KNOW DEFEAT AT OUR HANDS.
WE HAVE THE ADVANTAGE, HUMAN
HEART AND PERSEVERANCE, SOME-
THING THESE FILTHY ALIENS WILL
NEVER HAVE.

NEW MOMBASA WILL PREVAIL,
-SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
PAUL HUPHY RUSSEL

Side 2:

OUR GLORIOUS CITY IS UNDER
ATTACK BY THE DESPICABLE
COVENANT HORDE.

THEIR DEFEAT IS INEVITABLE,
THEY WILL MEET A HORRIBLE
END AT THE HANDS OF OUR
BRAVE FORCES WHO RIGHT
NOW ARE FIGHTING FOR YOUR
SURVIVAL!

PLEASE DO YOUR PART BY
REPORTING TO THE NEAREST
EVACUATION ZONE.

NEW MOMBASA WILL PREVAIL,
-MINISTER OF INFORMATION
DAVID DOCKMASTER DUNN

You may be saying to yourself right now "So...? It's just a warning given out to all the citizens of New Mombasa, nothing 'egg-like' about that". Well, it is just a normal warning, but if you look who each one is signed by, 'Paul Huphy Russel' (http://www.bungie.net/Inside/MeetTheTeam.aspx?Person=russel) and 'David Dockmaster Dunn' (http://www.bungie.net/Inside/MeetTheTeam.aspx?Person=dunn) are both workers at bungie. They decided to leave us a little message so there it is.

---------------------------------

The Arbiter

---------------------------------

Oracle

---------------------------------

Giant 'J.S.' In Blood

Level:
Oracle
How to get to it:
It is on the side of one of the walls in the 'elevator room'.
Meaning:
'J.S.' Stands for 'Joseph Staten' (http://bungie.net/Inside/MeetTheTeam.aspx?Person=staten), lead director of cinematics over at Bungie.

---------------------------------

Delta Halo

---------------------------------

BSOD Switch

Level:
Delta Halo
How to get to it:
Get to the end of Delta Halo, and instead of going into the door to the projection room, grenade jump (with sputnik) over the projection room building and then sniper 10x zoom into the ocean (where the gondola would be in regret) and you will see a BSOD switch. This is the same switch that appears in Zanzibar.
Meaning:
It is believed that this is just a placeholder for the gondola in the level 'Regret', but nothing is completely confirmed.
Forum link:
http://maphawk.ontv.com/utfoo/maproom/%5B08%5DDelta%20Halo/bsod.htm

---------------------------------

Regret

---------------------------------

Hi Ben

Level:
Regret
How to get to it:
When you start the level, Regret, walk to the right and out the door, then go to the right again until you get to a broken bridge. Make sure you have sputnik on and then grenade jump across it. Go to the right around the abandonded tower until you find a completely dark room. Stand next to one of the pillars in the room and look up and zoom 10x with the sniper rifle and you will see "Hi Ben". It is really quite hard to explain, it would help if you watched the vid.
Meaning:
Obviously, this is one of the lead designers of this level's way to say 'hi' to his friend 'Ben'!

---------------

Ring of plasma grenades

Level:
Regret
How to get to it:
Right after the first underwater elevator, you will get to a big room with two hunters and a prophet hologram. If you walk right above the hologram you will see this weird circle of plasma grenades.
Meaning:
Unknown

---------------

The Green Orb

Level:
Regret
How to get to it:
Find a way to launch yourself to the top of the temple of Regret (last temple in the level) and look at the very end of the temple and you will see a green orb.
Meaning:
It is almost certain that this is the prophet of Regret's plasma pistol, but the way that Bungie placed it (not under the level, but in a reachable spot) is why this object is considered an egg.
Link:

Vid:
http://files.mythica.org/halo/darkhelmet/orb.wmv

---------------------------------

Sacred Icon

---------------------------------

The Green Door

Level:
Sacred Icon
How to get to it:
In the part with the huge elevator and the 2 huge doors, ride the elevator until the 2nd door is about to close, when that happens, slide (or sentinal ride, whatever floats your boat) to the bottom of the level, to the side of that huge door that you aren't supposed to be at. Then, look at the first door and it will be green instead of brown.
Meaning:
Rumor has it that next to Bungie's old studio was a resturant called 'The Green Door'. They wanted to pay tribute to them by making a huge green door in one of their levels.'
Forum link:

---------------------------------

Quarantine Zone

---------------------------------

Gravemind

---------------------------------

Jason Jones in Cutscene

Level:
Gravemind
How to get to it:
Watch the beggining cutscene in Gravemind on legendary and at the part with the grunts you will see this weird image.
Meaning:
Jason Jones is the head guy at Bungie and im sure he wanted to leave his mark somewhere on this game.
Forum link:
http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=54393&highlight=gravemind+cutscene

---------------------------------

Uprising

---------------------------------

Ling-Ling in the clouds (probably nothing)

Level:
Uprising
How to get to it:
Look up
Meaning:
Ling-Ling is a bungie icon from back in the day, so i think they wanted to put him somewhere in this game so they put him right in the clouds.
Forum link:

---------------------------------

High Charity

---------------------------------

Great Journey

---------------------------------

Rex (Part 2)

Level:
Great Journey
How to get to it:
It is at the end of "Great Journey". Get on top of the control room and go as high as you can possibly go. Once you are that high, find a way to grenade (sputnik, of course) jump to the highest pillar on the very top of the control room, it is up there.
Meaning:
One of this level's lead designer's is Tyson Green. His nickname is Ferrex. Since he created the majority of this level, he decided to leave his mark on it by writing 'REX" with blood on a very hard to reach spot.
Forum link:
http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=8682
Vid:

---------------

Hidden Heretic Banshee

Level:
Great Journey
How to get to it:
At the end of Great Journey, when they give you a banshee, drive the banshee to thr top of the scarab and get out, now ride the scarab without jumping off until the scarab stops moving and starts shooting at the door. When this happens, get back in your banshee and drive under the scarab and you'll find a yellow heretic banshee!
Meaning:
There really is no meaning for this, bungie just wanted to have some fun!

---------------

Zen Garden

Level:
Great Journey
How to get to it:
The zen garden is at the top of the room that you enter where there are two sides to the room and the only way to get to the other side is with a small bridge to the right (hard to explain). All you have to do is grenade-ghost-launch yourself up to the top and there it is!
Meaning:
Just a spiffy little place that Bungie put in the game as decoration

===============================

There is also a huge list of 7's that appear in halo, you can check out a full list of them here!: http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=39363

*I take no credit for the finding of any of these eggs

I spent an entire week on this so I hope you guys appreciate it. I know that isn't a complete list but it's as much as I could find, if you have one that I missed, post it and i'll add it in!

Just a few questions:
- you didn't include the Scarab Guns in Outskirts and the second one in Metropolis (jumping to the Scarab). Did you not consider them as eggs?
- also, what about the invincible warthog you can get in Outskirts?

No offense intended, but I'm just pointing out some hidden stuff you didn't mention. Still a great thread deserving a sticky, though!

Well there is clearly a lot more eggs in the game than the ones he listed. He just wanted to make his own list which he will probably update and such.

Nice job though, very detailed...

KORHAL, I talked to him about that on AIM as he was making sure he had everything before he posted. He said that was a glitch.

I honestly don't consider the zen garden as an egg, being as it's just scenary and has no real meaning, but since most of you do consider it as an egg, ill add it now.

I actually did forget the other scarab guns, but ill add those in tonight, and i also forgot about the warthog Rolling Eyes so ill add that in right after i do the zen garden.

DO NOT do the Invincible Warthog, that is not an egg, just a glitch. Yeah, just thought I should point that out and such.

And I wouldn't say Taso hates everyone, just people that talk/write...and I will stop there....

1. I just hate Swaheeli because he kept booting me from the Relic hog launch games...

2. I already talked to him about the IOHBOY on the SMG, we're having a little debate over that, so we decided to look into it more before he posted anything about it.

3. The invincible hog is actually an egg.
Look at the invincible hog's spawn, it's in such a spot that Bungie MUST have intended for us to find it.

After looking through it a bit more thoroughly, I'd have to say, you should add sarge's cigar wherever appropriate. It's underneath almost EVERY trashcan on Outskirts.

Also, you should add the invincible banshee on GJ.

Oh, okay, that's what you meant. But no invincible marines, because that's a glitch, right?

Invincible Banshee? I'll search for it then, never heard of it before.

I might be able to get a good pic of where the invincible hog is.

And maybe a pic of the IOHBOY on the SMG. Its in a Quarantine Zone Cutscene.

the marines, I'm not sure about, but the hog is definitely an egg, and the banshee is too.

To get the banshee on GJ, just destroy every other available banshee at the end of the level before you fight Tartarus.

Some elite comes down with a nice banshee that doesn't die.

Invinci-hog is an EGG, not a GLITCH.

The floating SMGs are glitches. The IOHBOY on the QZ cutscene is an EGG.

Personally I don't think the Scarab Guns you get from the machine are eggs. They require a lot of work and it's not as "Stand-outish" as a floating Scarab Gun in the middle of nowhere. Programming, sez I. Not egg.

The little yellow "Flood Bugs" on Gravemind, the level, might be an egg. I can't find a story purpose for them, so hmm.

Are the camo-Flood that show up on High Charity an egg or just normal crap? I've STILL never been able to get them to show up Sad

Good work, once you get a bit more and we all agree on some more stuff I'll be happy to sticky it.

Farewell 343 Guilty Spark

EDIT: Also, if you get the time, it needs to be organized by level too. Just drag and paste, whenever you get around to it. Thanks.

ive been wondering where he came from. last night i was doing the gj just for finding stuff and near the end i started collecting brainless brutes jacked from banshee's and all of a sudden i just see an elite walk up and start shooting my brutes Shocked

but uhh..that wouldnt be an egg..that would be more of a you have no way to get to the room your supposed to go to so you need a ride kind of thing, no?

Hmmm, depends on how you view it. While that is essentially it is that, the part where it can't be destroyed could be the egg.

However, you can look at it this way, they made it invinsible so you don't summon an army of Elites to help you out. But I'll consider it an egg, not like you notice that happening and such.

See if you can get a pic of that "Undead Marine" on Cairo. I've never seen a pic before.
And nice job on the others. Keep updating and this has to get stickied.

Well done! *stick*

Also, don't forget the "yellow Flood bugs" on Gravemind (I'll try to find a link for you later if I'm still alive) and perhaps the Green Door on Sacred Icon. It's not a graphical glitch, we just don't know why it's there. Someone mentioned a restaraunt near Bungie's old office called the "Green Door" or the "Green something." *shrugs* Could be an egg. Herbie, far as we know, is a programming glitch Sad

The Cowering Grunt on Uprising though is an "egg."

Again, nice work.

Thanks to Silent Stoner69 for the pic (I didn't take it, silentstoner 69 did!)
If it would let me into MSN I would ask him for a pic of the invincible hog but I can't get on so, ya.
You're welcome.

EDIT: I did take a good quality digi cam pic that was closer of the IOHBOY on metro bridge, because I took a large leap right beside it and zoomed in with the sniper if thats somthing that you would like.

I'm pretty sure the yellow flood bugs are just part of the level, not really anything special about them. They are kinda like the birds on delta halo.

I'll add the green door now, and also the cowering grunt

They are alien birds! Personally, i think that they are just part of the level, they are only there for scenary and to immerse you more and make you feel like you are really in an alien planet.

Wow, this is a good sticky. Should be pretty useful.

Would the "In Amber Clad" written on the IAC on Cairo Station be an egg? You should put the IOHBOY on the QZ cutscene SMG, as well as the MC doll that the Grunt is holding in the Delta Halo cutscene.

Also, in CS if you look out the window in the bomb room a Covie Cruiser will fly by. On the nose will be a Japanese (Chinese? Korean? Whatever.) symbol on the nose, similar to the one on the Magnum in Halo 1 or the Wraith in Halo 2.

You may want to include the floating boxes on Gravemind (Or maybe it was High Charity?). Also, on the control panels along the wall on CS and The Armory, there will be a diagram exactly the same as the one on the Pillar of Autumn's control panels in The Maw in Halo 1. It shows a red line that I assume represents the PoA orbiting Threshold. Don't know if it's an egg or not.

Good list overall. Keep at it.

The "In Amber Clad" is just stating the name of the ship, its not an egg.

Me and Taso fought long and hard about the IOHBOY in the QZ cutscene and if you look at it really closely then you'll see that it says 'Cal5mmx23' and not 'IOHBOY'.

An MC doll? I'm pretty sure this isnt true but if it is and you can find me a pic, that'd be great.

Japanese symbol on a covie cruiser? I didn't hear that anywhere but once again, if you can get a pic, that'd be great.

The floating boxes happen to do with a loading glitch, they are not an egg.

And idk what diagram you're talking about but try and find a pic.

Thanks for the feedback, im working on adding the cowering grunt and the switch on Gravemind (or High Charity?) but things have been hectic lately so when i get some time i'll add them in. Smile

Here's some new pics of the MTANGULUZI thing. First pic is of it, and second pic has MC shooting towards the area of it. Don't bother asking how I got MC himself in the pic. If you want to know, look at the top right of the second pic.

Here is a pic of Delta Halo Cutscene on Easy, then on Legendary. Supposedly legendary the grunt is holding an MC doll.

Oh, and about the IOHBOY on the SMG, there is still something of it on it somewhere because there is this bitmap. Just maybe the SMG never turns right to see it. Or maybe the text thought to be it is it. I'll do some tests.

Ok, I found the IOHBOY... kinda.

First off, THERE IS NO IOHBOY ON AN SMG IN QUARANTINE ZONE. Proof? Go to http://ducain.org/hihforum/viewtopic.php?t=54005, the original post about it. Notice anything about the editor he's viewing it in? Look at the titlebar.

HE'S LOOKING AT REGRET!
I've done some checks, and the BITMAP ONLY EXISTS IN REGRET, It is not at all on quarantine zone. Taso is right about what he thought was on the SMG in the cut-scene.

Anyways, you can get an SMG into Regret's cutscenes by having an SMG out when its triggered. You can get an SMG into the first cut-scene if you finish the level Delta Halo with an SMG out.

But, none of the cutscenes seem to give a clear view of the SMG. I'm doing some tests, like making the IOHBOY bitmap in a big red rectangle so it shows up easier, but I messed up. Try and find it!

PS: Did anyone happen to notice the "TTERAB Industries" sign in my second pic a few posts down had the word "Mods" on it? lol.
