Yes, the long awaited interview is finally complete!
Lemme say that this guy's a nutcase. Funniest nutcase I've ever had the pleasure to communicate with, however. Enjoy

Taso: We'll start off with some personal questions:

Taso: What's your full name? Where do you live? And where did you attend school?

Frankie: Frank John O'Connor, I live in Seattle, and I went to School in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I was not coincidentally born and raised.

Taso: What are your hobbies?

Frankie: The usual - cooking sushi, Chinese opera, silk painting, danci...oh wait. Those are Chun Li's hobbies. Me? Cycling, reading, eating pies.

Taso: What were your interests as you grew up? How did you become what you are now?

Frankie: Become what I am now? You mean a huge jerk? That was a natural process, nothing to do with my interests growing up. But I played a LOT of games when I was a kid, if that helps. Pong, 2600, Intellivision, Vectrex, ColecoVision, Sinclair Spectrum, Atari 800, Commodore 64...and so on, 'til Xbox 360 in the present day. And before you start wondering if I was like that kid from Silver Spoons, with a train in my arcade, I only ever owned one system at a time.

Taso: Who was your idol as you grew up?

Frankie: Billy Idol, naturally. He's not just my idol, he's the world's idol. Rock!

Taso: Do you have any pets?

Frankie: An enormous cat. Seriously, 22 pounds of rippling feline blubber. In fact, rippling is his only form of exercise.

Taso: Were you a gaming enthusiast before going on to Bungie?

Frankie: See above, but I worked for a bunch of video game magazines prior to that, including the Official Xbox Magazine, which is where I developed an ailment called, "Teh Bias."

Taso: Enough of those, let's move on to the Bungie-related questions.
Taso: What exactly do you do at Bungie?

Frankie: I'm content manager, which really means, spare monkey. That means I do everything from writing the manual, helping marketing with materials, running the website and going on trips to incredible places - to shoveling pimp turds out of Marty's recording booth. Seriously. Pimps are way worse than cart horses.

Taso: Why did you decide to work at Bungie of all places?

Frankie: Two words: Pimps, Sea.

Taso: What game is your favorite of all of Bungie's concoctions?

Frankie: Oddly enough, Marathon. I had a Mac and I was jealous of all the PC shooters, so I was looking for a "decent" 3D shooter. Then along came one that actually owned most of the PC stuff out there.

Taso: Do you know why Bungie left so many unfinished things in Halo 2? The skull menu, the Mongoose, the second open-able door on containment? These are left partially in the coding, but none were completed... was that a deadline issue?

Frankie: Yes and no. Some things you put in and try out, and they're just not fun, so it's easier to hide them rather than rip them out of very complex code. Some of it of course, is the cruel reality of relativistic space.

Taso: Who's your favorite co-worker?

Frankie: Skip Weasel, our intern. He makes me feel so good about myself, I get dizzy thinking about it.

Taso: On to the Halo related questions...
Taso: What's your favorite part of Halo and/or Halo 2? Multiplayer? XBL? Campaign?

Frankie: Same as everyone else's - landing on Truth and Reconciliation. After that, Rockets on Hang 'Em High, anything on Lockout and matchmaking. It's horribly sobering to try finding a game in some other online titles. Maybe that's just familiarity speaking though.

Taso: How do you think Halo/Halo 2 turned out overall?

Frankie: I think they both turned out pretty good.

Taso: What do you think of the XBL system for Halo 2? Do you think your team did a good job?

Frankie: Max Hoberman and his guys are responsible for that, and I think it's a work of genius. GENIUS.

Taso: What's your favorite gametype in Halo 2?

Frankie: I'm a spaz, so I like classic CTF, Rockets and Swords.

Taso: How often do you play XBL on Halo 2?

Frankie: As much as possible, without sacrificing carnal opportunities.

Taso: Are there any parts of Halo you preferred over Halo 2? *cough* Hang em High? *cough*

Frankie: SILENCE!!!

Taso: What do you think could be improved upon in Halo 2? (not including XBL)

Frankie: Nothing. It was a crystal sharp work of enduring perfection that could never be bettered in a universe of infinitudes.

Taso: Finally, the miscellaneous questions.
Taso: What's your favorite Halo-related fansite?

Frankie: Gotta say HBO and High Impact Halo.

Taso: Are there any other video games you enjoy playing?

Frankie: Right now I am playing DOA4, COD2, GTA Liberty City, Scrabble Blast (yeah, I know) and Half Life 2 (PC).

Taso: What does Bungie have in store for the future? Any fun projects coming?

Frankie: Yes. Our next project.

Taso: How's the Halo movie looking?

Frankie: Like a lot of wheeling and dealing.

Taso: Have you personally met Peter Jackson? If so, what's he like?

Frankie: No, but I am told by Joseph Staten that he is like a cross between Elvis and Jesus. I shall call him, JELVIS.

Taso: Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself? Odd quirks, perhaps?

Frankie: I am foreign. Like Balky. Or maybe more like Groundskeeper Wullie. Also, I have an enormous tattoo of the Scottish flag on my right shoulder, underneath which is inscribed, "Scotland Forever." On account of how stupefyingly awesome Scotland is. Eventually, when the Scottish Empire has finally secured world peace and total domination of the globe, you will appreciate it.

Taso: Anymore easter eggs you'd like us to search for? We're running out of things
to do at HIH after having gotten into the index chamber in Quarentine Zone alive.

Frankie: There are still hidden bits of art, that's for sure. Nothing major now though. Little tidbits, like messages to girlfreiends, etc. That said, I really don't know. It's actually a Bungie tradition to hide easter eggs not only in the game, but hidden from your colleagues too.

Taso: Thanks a ton for taking the time to answer these questions, you rock man. Stop by for some coffee once in a while.

Taso: Thanks again. Have a great day. *shakes hand vigorously*

(Note from Taso: I have officially added Frankie to my list of heroes. Right up there with Adam West)

Goodbye and good morrow Rampancy

Uh oh... they're onto me... <_< >_>
*Runs to a space pod which shoots me to LA*

This guy rocks though, seriously... what's weird... is he knew my real name... And I'm positive I didn't tell him... *gets creeped out*

Oh well. There's probably four or five ways he can find out.
This database, bungie.net database, XBL database. They all use my real name. *shrug*

*salutes*

good morrow Rampancy

That was *wipes tear* by far the most enlightening and hilarious thing I've read in a LONG, long time.

He mentioned HIH! He loves us! We love him! Scottish babies everywhere!

I'm from clan Macdonald, so go Scotland!

And yes, we've not found everything in Halo, so I'm sure we've not found everything in Halo 2. lol we'll have to go walking around with our freaking sniper rifles at ten times zoom EVERYWHERE. That's going to be so fun.

*remembers to bring a sniper to his next visit in the Index Chamber*

Fantastic man, is Frankie. Excellent work Taso, who is also another one of humanity's crowning achievements. Very Happy You rock, mate.

nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

he didnt give away any secrets STILL!!!!

but he said that there were still little messages to friends and stuff still to find!!!!!!!! but we probably wont find them unless we get more hints (like hi ben)

so untill halo 3 comes out, i guess we dont have much of a chance of them telling all the secrets of halo 2 Crying or Very sad

speaking of not finding all the eggs in halo 2, you should have asked him if there were still any eggs to find in halo 1!

but anyway, nice job getting the interview

NOOOOOOOO!!!!

I wouldn't be too surprised if we found something like a repeat of the MEGG or w/e it was in Halo1.

Well the sentence concerning the eggs bothers me. He said it was customary to hide eggs from each other within the game. I fear we may never find everything.

What we DO know is that there's not another megg as he said absolutely nothing major remains. Of course, Megg2 could've been hidden from Frankie. We may never know.

Thanks on all the comments, and you know? I've been accused of being Frankie four times during my life at HIH. Amusing.

Caboose... do you know what I would be subject to were I to lie? Regardless, if enough people demand proof, I'll give you the original email sent to me by the Public Relations man over at Bungie agreeing to let me interview Frankie. It won't prove that this is the real interview, but it would prove that I WAS allowed to interview him.

Besides, if I wanted to lie, it would be about something amusing like the skull menu... (inside jokes are amusing) *shifty eyes* flech knows what I'm talking about.

good morrow Rampancy

PS, I have considered being a journalist, but I'm afraid the income isn't much.
