Route change, that is. First the new path I'll be taking, since it's almost as quick and hella hella more reliable than the lunge near the end.

I removed my Gravemind How-To video for more space, since damn near all of the tricks are either documented individually or there's text for them all here somewhere anyway. That space is now replaced with

Yes, you can laugh laugh laugh at me missing the two damn easy jumps. If I hadn't missed the jumps, and had used the new route at the end, this would be a sub 10 run. I think the new route would also be useful for Legendary, as long as you take care of the sniper. Also, I changed over to using just one weapon in the Jail, and now instead of using the Brute Shot I'm going back to the Carbine. The time using either is damn near the same because while the Carbine is instant hit, it's weaker and requires better aiming (which I totally lose after a few good screwed up runs).

Also, I'll try on the first to make sure I get highspeedhalo.org. However, there's no 100% chance that I'll get it, and if we lose it to either GoDaddy.com or some other Joe Blow, we might have to find a new name, or something, to recoup. :P

Mistakes in this run also. I think I figured out why the enemies aren't loading at the start when you stand in the sweet spot. Well, more like, I understand what I'm doing that works the best, and it has to do with delaying the Checkpoint you get by about a second or two, and being in that spot. Iono, I'll play with it, it's still so freakball.

It seems that I'm prone to miss jumps on good runs and make them on runs where I can't shoot straight, or have to hunt. Blah.

DivX wins the award for "ass of the day" award for a company. They decided to recind the codec from 98 and ME.

Crouch jumping's hard? Maybe it's your controller settings...

Good run flech, keep up the improvements. Smile

I won't be able to watch this until Sunday night. Until then I can make fun of your jumping :P

Where exactly did you mess up your jumps? And do you have more trouble jumping in Halo 1 or 2?

I don't know, I've ALWAYS had trouble crouch jumping when it counts. Ask Sorahn or Mr Jukes, my jumping is insanely bad. I CAN do it, but like my brain just fails sometimes and clicking the button ... correctly, or something.

I screw up getting onto the rafters, both times. And I screw getting up the first time like 3 times in a row. :|

3 times in a row is like maybe 6 seconds wasted and then messign up once once would be liek 2 seconds.

It really sucks that somethign like crouch jumping would ruin a great run :( I really want to see a run sub-10. I'll just have to hope you'll have one done by the time I get home Sunday night.

Also, are you back to speed running now or did you have that saved on your computer?

just a little tip i picked-up in the jumping forum - practice jumping and crouch jumping backwards (as in facing away from your intended target) once you seperate what your mind perceives as jumping from the mechanics of pressing buttons to achieve a specific goal, you will hit the jump every time

this is very much like the way we proof read in the printing industry - we read everything backwards (as in starting with the last word of the paragraph) - this forces you to look at each word on it's own

or maybe your controller is toast and won't crouch while pressing foreward

and, by the way, nice run

Nice run, flech! This kind of stuff makes me want to get into speedrunning. Unfortunately, I'm so far behind on all of the speedrunning tricks, I would really have to dedicate a lot of time to learn them all.

Wow...I downloaded VLC and now it expects me to download files to watch them? I cant spend 15 minutes downloading something. How can I get rid of it? It was alot easier when I just had WMV.

Wait, what? The run is like 45 megs large, and that's without going into junktastic quality land. Don't try to stream the video. :P

Huh, I've never had that problem with VLC... is it a function of a browser plugin or something? Because Firefox just has me download the files so that I may play them...

Streaming speed runs is never good. Did you try streaming insidi0us's legendary TB run? Ouch, 120 megs or somewhere around there :P

I hardly ever stream anything lol
And flech, don't worry about me streaming your vids, cause whenever I hit a vid it tries to stream with quicktime and that doesn't go over well...
Anyway yeah.
