Hey guys! I found a rather interesting new trick a few days ago, and finally got around to posting it.

Basically, by screwing with the loading zones, you can turn the beginning of the level into mountains.
When the pelicans come to deliver your warthog, they crash into the mountains at full speed and skid off, kicking anything in their path clear across the ENTIRE LAKE.
I've had a lot of fun sending myself flying all over the map, including straight into the ceiling.

The video is pretty short, but the tutorial is a little under 7 minutes (it's a complicated process). Check it out, and let me know what you think. Thanks!

**EDIT**: Dantheman87 and Theneighborkid found this before I did, but I couldn't find anything about it in the forums. Sorry about that, guys...

I just started getting into the Halo tricking world, even though I've been exploring for a while (I released a sentinel riding vid like a year ago). I've heard about fall timing but never learned how to do it. Could you link me please?

Thanks again!

i dont think there is a link for a tut for it. basicaly, have the auto update off your xbox. get in the side seat of a vehicle, wielding a sword. get close to an enemy, then lunge at him when the reticule is red. not, the side seat person isnt falltimed, and can be shot anywhere without being killed by that. or, after you do that, fly into(if you exit the vehicle you will fly for a while, or for a split second) another vehicle. no fall timer fo that one either Wink POTS knows all about this, if he posts here, maybe he can give you a better idea than wat i can.

Well, he can't really do a non fall-timed launch that way since the only way he could do it would be using the Warthog that the Pelican is delivering. If there was another vehicle to do it one that map, that would be awesome to see.

I actually saw Dantheman87 and theneighborkid do that in their last variety video.

But those were awesome launches, and a wonderful tutorial. I really really really hope this goes in the Tricks Archive.

I've heard Dantheman's name before... didn't he do something with the scarab gun in Outskirts?

I'll put their names in the opening post. Sorry for saying I found it, but I couldn't find anything about it before.

That's called "The Prisoner", by Mothergoat. Really excellent piece, it was frontpaged on HBO a while back.

I haven't watched the vid yet *kicks computer* but I'm sure it's phenomenal, I'll give it another try here in a bit. Congrats on front page! Very Happy

And for the record, although dantheman87 did this trick first, he did it in a Ghost, and he wasn't fall-timed. If I read this right this was a fall-timed hog... so it's a completely different trick. The launch method was pioneered by dan and TNK, but no one yells for credit when someone launches a Ghost where first was launched a hog. Wink

Once again, fabulous work and great thinking. I love intelligent tricking! Very Happy

Right, I launched a ghost. I have no idea what he was launching though. Thanks for checking it out, and can you help me out with fall timing some time?

He was launching a Ghost as well, in Single Player. It IS possible to fall time in Single Player, but it's hard to set up...

I would recommend using the infinite camo glitch to help.

Play through till you get your hog, and a sword (you may need Thunderstorm to ensure swordness) and then drive to the bridge area. Make certain that there is a Grunt in a turret. Park the hog with the nose right against the turret, and check to see if your reticle turns red when you point at the grunt with your sword from the side seat. Now park a Ghost right next to your side seat, a little bit back since they will be a little lower to the ground.

Now, go trigger the bridge, run quickly back to the hog, jump in the seat and swipe the Grunt, the swing to your right and look at the seat of the Ghost. Tap X, then IMMEDIATELY press and HOLD X again. You should get in the Ghost, fall timed. Now just head up the hills and wait for your Pelican to fly away. If it doesn't work, wash rinse repeat till it does *shrugs* Good luck! Very Happy

I would indeed like to see someone do this with a hog, too.

Oh... the problem is, I can't get the warthog. See, the pelican that launches you comes at the same time as the one with the warthog. So in order to have it punt you, you can't have the warthog at the same time. Is there another way to do it?

In co-op does the partner need to be right next to you when you launch? Great trick by the way.

Ah ok, see dan used the Tank Pelican, so I just assumed you had too *kicks computer again*

Hmm... Well without a sideseat, I don't know. It MAY be possible to accomplish the same thing by putting a Ghost between you and an enemy and then lunging or rocket/sword lunging at him, and hitting X to get into the Ghost while still flying. *ponders* In all honesty I don't think it's been done that way before, but I don't know everything *shrugs* Actually might work. The principal is the same. You just have to trick the game into thinking you're swordflying when in reality you're in a vehicle. Hope it works!

Nah, the partner can be anywhere. If you put him on the towers you can get a decent view of how far the ghost/other player goes (one of the clips had him on a tower).

Really cool and seemed easy enough to do, so I tried it. I cant seem to get the phantom to spawn, I got cortana to say "Get in the structure and find the controls to extend the bridge" At the very begginning of the level did you kill everything then leave before the phantom came or did you just ran past all of that to get the ghost?

Nevermind I got it. So much fun! Very Happy

Excellent! You had me a little worried that I forgot something Confused
By the way, at the beginning I ran straight past. Well, first I killed the grunts, then stole the jackal's sniper on top, then sniped the four jackals in the open (but I grenade jumped on top of the hill to confuse them... thank you Sputnik!) and the video starts right after that.

OMG!! Weirdness!! I know exactly what happened, but it was a major "WTF?" moment.

I was in the process of doing this trick, and as I drove about where the tower would be, an Elite and three Grunts (All lined up side by side, like this: Aooo) spawned behind me. I didn't even know they were there until one of the grunts was like "NYUH!". At that point I turned around and they started shooting, executioner squad style. I was like, "WTF?! Where did they come from?".

Just funny to see

Yeah, that would be the second wave that shows up occasionally. No idea why they do, but sometimes they come with a phantom, sometimes they don't even appear. Weird indeed... Question

No, not them. The ones I'm talking about normally spawn inside the tower when you go to hit the switch. Instead, there's no tower, so they just spawn on the ground in the middle of nowhere. The funny thing is, since they started shooting the instant they saw me, and all of them saw me at once, they all shooting in unison. For some reason, the Elite is only shooting single shots from his plasma rifle... as if a single shot on easy would hurt me. For an Elite, he's not too smart.
